Shinya Sugi is an architect who lost his parents at 15, and then his sister to illness. Now, he sleepwalks through life as a water meter reader until a friend takes him to a rice ball shop called Tachibana. There he is dumbfounded to meet the owner, Kaoru, who looks identical to his late sister. Kaoru has a knack for helping customers untangle their life problems and bring a smiles to their faces. Shinya, however, poses his biggest challenge in this miraculously heart-wrenching drama.

Although Junpei is aiming to become a professional photographer, he has just completed a five-year teaching post at a reform school. His next assignment is deputy homeroom teacher at a prison school. Junpei will be working alongside senior teacher, Miyake. The students of the prison school are all convicted felons. Those who have not yet finished compulsory education but show the will to learn and have a clean slate of behavior in prison are the conditions for admission to the school. However, the screening process is strict, and only those judged worthy by the admissions committee are permitted to take 14 subjects and study for seven hours a day. The students are something of a motley crew and this drama traces not only their rocky path to graduation but also how Junpei grows through coming into contact with them.

Toji, a manager of a food section in a medium-sized department store, has to put up with a tough boss that makes every day a real struggle. But things start to look up for him though when he meets a pretty elevator girl named Nao. Just as he is starting to enjoy a new-found happiness at work, a new account manager from an advertising agency visits Toji’s division, and it is none other than Toji’s ex-girlfriend from university, Makoto. Toji is surprised to see her again but Makoto treats him as if she has never met him before. Now dealing with a tough job and caught in the middle of a jealous Nao and Makoto who dumped him, things couldn’t get much worse for Toji!

His parents having passed away, 21 year-old Natsuo must now take care of his teenage younger brother and sister and run the family bike shop. It is a heavy burden which he handles with an even measure of discipline and kindness. A shy young woman with a heart condition is impressed by his positive outlook and toughness, and she begins to help him with his responsibilities. It is while learning to deal with daily life and family crisis alike that their love begins to bloom.

His mother having left him, nine year-old Yuudai is forced to live alone and steal from a local convenience store to survive. Pursuing the wily thief to get back the stolen merchandise is the first act on the job for newly-arrived Shintaro, manager of the convenience store. Shintaro soon learns of Yuudai’s predicament however, and decides to take him in. Becoming his new family, Shintaro and his assistant, Satomi, soon discover that caring for a young boy who has such a troubled past and who is accustomed to fending for himself may be more than they can handle.

This romantic tale involves a co-pilot who aspires to become the pilot of a new Boeing 747-400, and the stewardess he loves. Suddenly, the wife he had believed dead reappears. The simple purity of the stewardess’s love provides an engaging background to the mystery and suspense which fills this drama.
