The story begins with a single misunderstanding on the part of a wife. Convinced that her husband is having an affair with a female underling at his work, the wife goes to confront her. And then something incredible happens! The 39-year-old wife and the 20-year-old office lady switch bodies! The wife is an extreme worry wart and is given to fanciful delusion. The office worker, on the other hand, is carefree and says what she thinks. When the lives of these two completely different women of different generations are switched, it turns their whole world on its head. The young office worker, now the wife, doesn't mince words with family and the wife's social circle, while the wife, now an office worker, witnesses the shocking truth about what her husband is really like at work. Amid laughter and tears, there's no end to the suspense in this raucous family comedy!

A police academy dormitory for young cadets in training means 10 months of constant surveillance, harsh abuse by drill sergeants, no off campus R&R, definitely no cell phones and absolutely no romance! It is a practically unthinkable setting in contemporary Japan. In this hellish boot camp, the only moral support the young cadets have comes from each other… or does it? Protagonists Teppei, Danji, Hiro belong to the Class S, which happens to be filled with the lowest achievers and last-minute replacements. The bar is set high for Teppei and his band of “underachievers,” but they’re determined to prove themselves worthy, or die trying.

Miko, who abandons her ascetic training to become a convent nun to instead assume the singing dreams of her twin brother’, Mio, by replacing him as a member of the hugely popular rock band, A.N. JELL. The band’s leader, Ren, though overflowing with musical talent, is also an extreme neat freak and perfectionist who keeps others at a distance and refuses to recognize Miko or anybody else’s talent.
The band’s other members consist of Shu, who seems to have a little more of a forgiving personality, but is actually just extremely detached. Yuuki, while on the surface a complete airhead, keeps balance in the band, particularly between Ren and Shu. Miko leaves the communal life of a nunnery to join that of a rock band, but will she be able to “gel” with A.N.JELL? And bringing a girl into an all-boy band is sure to produce some interesting chemical reactions; perhaps even some chemistry between Miko and Ren, not to mention a fair share of jealousy, tears, camaraderie and even a search for parental love.

Hiro was an ace pitcher in junior high school, until he was diagnosed with a “glass elbow.” After giving up on the sport for a time, his passion for the game draws him back to it in high school and he joins a baseball team only to find himself in a match against his old rival Hideo who plays for the highest ranked high school. The meeting of the two is observed by Hideo’s girlfriend, Hikari, and she finds herself increasingly drawn towards Hiro, despite his only being interested in baseball. These two young men battle for the dream of winning the famous Koushien Baseball Tournament and for the heart of the young woman who doesn’t know for whom she should cheer.

A high school student’s mother passes away leaving her alone with her grief. The girl, Marimo, discovers the name of a father she never knew. Marimo sets off to meet him, but is completely shocked when she finds someone very different from the father she envisioned. Her father, Shinpei, a 38-year-old would-be private detective, is shocked too, and doesn’t believe her until he sees the paperwork. With Marimo muttering “The worst father in the world” and Shinpei lamenting the loss of his freedom, these two are about to learn how difficult and rewarding a father/daughter relationship can be.

Daisuke is secretary to a powerful politician named Tojo for whom he has great respect and follows without question. But when he is told that Tojo is involved in a bribery scandal and that the money is being filtered into Daisuke’s account in order to set him up, Daisuke is shocked that the man he respected would make him the scapegoat in his crimes. Falsely accused of these crimes, Daisuke must fight to prove his innocence while being pursued by the police. His journey back will test his trust in the people around him and the system to which he has dedicated his life.

This drama focuses on the lives of those struggling against elitism in a society that puts considerable emphasis on status. The fourth series reintroduces a cast of characters in their thirties and well along their individual chosen paths. The stories center on the lives of the characters as they find self respect and help others who are starting out with little or no standing in society. This poignant drama artfully illustrates the dignity of people transcending titles and status.
