Akiha extols the virtues of the single life and has no desire for marriage. But then she encounters a sudden proposal from Shu, a handsome company man whom she just met. Dr.STOЯKS returns after its immensely popular first season ended in October, 2015. Treating new thematic questions of “What is birth?” “What is life?”. Two years have elapsed since the previous series with Dr. Sakura Konotori and the staffs around him having helped families bring a lot of newborn life into the world. Episode 1 sees Dr. Sakura, returning to the Persona General Medical Center from a remote Japanese island, diagnose an expectant mother named Mana who is deaf. Prior to her giving birth, however, she reveals a major concern that she has, and so resumes another round of miraculous medical, human drama.

Ritsu Okazaki was abandoned by his mother when a child and has since scraped out a seedy life in the only place that will comfortably accept him: the underworld. But one fateful day, Ritsu incurs a serious-head injury during a scuffle, and is informed by a doctor that he could go at any moment. With time running out, he sets out to find his mother, Reiko Hyuga. What he finds, however, is a happy and wealthy woman who spends her time lavishing love on another son named Satoru. Ritsu is torn between feelings of jealous hatred and yearning for the love of his mother. That’s when he’s reunited with Rinka, a girl he’d helped before. But Rinka has long been in love with Satoru, a childhood friend, but she has kept those feelings to herself. A mother and two sons, a girl and two men: two love triangles that intersect and clash to produce a bittersweet love story.

Kokoro Kurosawa is a musclebound judo athlete who upon graduation from university joins a major publishing company and is assigned to the editing desk of a weekly comic magazine called “Vibes”, full or very unique individuals and oddly-named senior editor, Iokibe. She becomes enthralled with the world of comic publishing with all of its meetings with serial cartoon writers, discovery of new talent, negotiating of issue volume, and working to secure second print runs. Despite her enthusiasm, Kokoro comes face to face with the hard realities of publishing as more content goes digital, and the days of the printed page appear numbered. If a comic book series doesn’t catch fire by its 3rd volume, it is doomed. Hoping to resuscitate fading “manga” artists on the cusp of oblivion, Kokoro and her colleagues strike upon a unique plan to produce a big hit, but must contend with their marquee writer being headhunted by a rival magazine, and the constant threat of discontinued publication. It’s one crisis after another for this plucky editing team.
