A catastrophic disaster has robbed Shiro Emiya of all his family and worldly possessions. Under the custody of a mysterious sorcerer, he finds himself ten years later training to become a sorcerer himself, motivated by a single-minded desire to “serve on the side of justice” and thereby fulfill the ambition of his deceased foster father.
