TBS’s "SASUKE" US version Season 4 Achieves Good Results on NBC

2012.08.02

Season 4 of “American Ninja Warrior” (ANW4), the US spin-off series of TBS's sports variety show "SASUKE," ended its primetime broadcast on NBC with a large climb in the ratings.

The ANW4 finale pitted the 100 top contenders against the recreated gigantic “Mt. Midoriyama” SASUKE course on the Las Vegas Strip. The show was aired on terrestrial network NBC as a two-hour special on July 23rd.

According to US media, from 9-11 p.m. ET, ANW4 scored its highest 18-49 rating in four weeks (since June 18) and delivered its biggest overall audience in three weeks (since June 25).

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, the show ranked #1 among ABC's "The Glass House", CBS's "Hawaii Five-0" encore and NBC in every key demographic and beat the combined ABC-CBS rating in adults 18-49.

ANW4 aired for ten weeks until July 23rd on both G4 and NBC in primetime. The broadcast marked the first time ever in US television history that the same season of a series has aired in primetime on two different networks during the same season. The ratings of each episode maintained the #1 rating in adults 18-49 in its timeslot throughout the season, but scored highest with the final episode.

SASUKE (including US version Ninja Warrior), has been sold in 157 countries and territories. Sales stretch not only to countries in Asia, Europe, and North America, but also to former eastern-bloc communist countries, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin American countries. Facebook’s “Ninja Warrior” fanpage has over 710,000 members and the popularity of Ninja Warrior continues to grow exponentially.
