TBS program Athletic Fire takes Best General Entertainment Programme at the 2012 Asian Television Awards!

The TBS program Athletic Fire has won Best General Entertainment Programme at the 2012 Asian Television Awards. The announcement was made at the awards ceremony in Singapore December 6, 2012. Now in its 17th year, the annual Asian Television Awards is the region's biggest television program competition, with prizewinners selected from among over 1,300 entries. Appearing at the event to accept the award on behalf of the program producer, TBS International Affairs Director Jun Ogawa commented on the SASUKE Singapore program aired locally in prime time the night before, and on Takeshi's Castle and other TBS content popular with audiences throughout Asia and around the world. Mr. Ogawa emphasized TBS's positioning as a pioneer in sports entertainment. On the air Saturday nights at 7pm since October 2011, Athletic Fire is a sports variety program in which well-known athletes and celebrities put their athletic prowess, concentration, balance and stamina to the test. The game-style show has won praise for its unique and entertaining range of sports challenges, leading to its selection as the Best General Entertainment Programme in this year's competition. A three-hour New Year 2013 Athletic Fire Sports Festival special is to be aired on TBS January 1, 2013 starting at 6pm.
