“American Ninja Warrior” dominates Monday night ratings for second week running!

2014.06.11

The sixth season of “American Ninja Warrior (ANW6),” the US spin-off version of the TBS sports entertainment program “SASUKE,” continues its dominant run! Broadcast by the NBC terrestrial network on Monday, June 9, from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., ANW6 episode 3 earned the highest rating for Monday night in the 18-49 age demographic, which advertisers value the most. For the second week in a row, ANW6 has defeated other networks’ programming to be crowned champion of Monday TV!

Monday night prime time is a hard-fought arena. The other three major networks offer such well-known and popular programs as “24: Live Another Day” (FOX), “MasterChef” (FOX), “The Bachelorette” (ABC), and “48 Hours” (CBS). In addition, on June 9 during ANW6’s time slot, ABC broadcast an exclusive interview of Hillary Clinton by Diane Sawyer, a television journalist known to virtually all Americans. Despite this formidable competition and ANW6’s two-hour duration, the sports entertainment program came out on top—a feat that once again attracted wide coverage by the major US entertainment media. One headline even referred to a ninja defeating Jack Bauer, the tough hero of “24: Live Another Day.”

The earlier episodes of ANW6 feature the regional qualifying rounds, and the series is only going to get more exciting as it progresses towards its expected September finale. Since ANW6 has earned such high ratings early in the season, it will be interesting to see how many viewers tune in going forward!
