Shinya Ryuzaki plays a pivotal role in the national police force as liaison between the police, Diet politicians, bureaucrats and the mass media. When he learns about the murder of a violent gang member through the newspapers instead of the usual direct reporting to him by media outlets, he is perplexed and seeks answers from an old friend and colleague on the police force, Shuntaro Itami, who is now Chief of Criminal Investigations. A series of ensuing crimes pointing to the same perpetrators begins to uncover links to a major unsolved scandal from the past, stirring up shadowy forces of corruption inside the police department. Ryuzaki forces himself to cast aside protocols of rank and status in favor of taking a thoroughly rational approach to solving the crime, embroiling his friend, Itami, in a lonely battle for justice.

The story begins with a single misunderstanding on the part of a wife. Convinced that her husband is having an affair with a female underling at his work, the wife goes to confront her. And then something incredible happens! The 39-year-old wife and the 20-year-old office lady switch bodies! The wife is an extreme worry wart and is given to fanciful delusion. The office worker, on the other hand, is carefree and says what she thinks. When the lives of these two completely different women of different generations are switched, it turns their whole world on its head. The young office worker, now the wife, doesn't mince words with family and the wife's social circle, while the wife, now an office worker, witnesses the shocking truth about what her husband is really like at work. Amid laughter and tears, there's no end to the suspense in this raucous family comedy!

Haruko Takanashi is 30. She works at a radio station, and is approaching middle management where good looks alone aren’t enough. She isn’t very romantic so she devotes herself to work and play and suddenly finds herself alone. Just when she has given up on romance she meets a man at a party to which she was taken by a subordinate at work. He is 25-year-old Ichiro Kashiwakura and is nothing out of the ordinary. They start a relationship, and one day, out of the blue, Ichiro ardently proposes to Haruko. Realizing that he really loves her, Haruko says yes and they get married. But she still hasn’t told him her real age. Now Haruko has to cope with living with Ichiro’s mother, Satoko, eldest sister Setsuko who has returned home, 2nd daughter Kazuko who has just returned from a prestigious overseas post with her company and the third daughter Sachiko who seems to have reached a bit of a dead end in her life. Competition for Ichiro’s attention is only one of many problems that arise!
