Soramame leaves the countryside for Tokyo in pursuit of a childhood friend and fiancé, but instead meets a scrappy young musician, Oto. By some odd circumstance, the two end up living under the same roof. Influenced by Oto, Soramame awakens to the world of fashion while Soramame becomes Oto’s muse, reviving his forsaken dream of becoming a musician. As they chase their dreams, love is sure to germinate, but struggles to take off for these two dreamers unwittingly caught in the world’s most beautiful love story.

Fulfilling a long-cherished dream, school teacher Hijiri Matsunaga is hired at a far-flung countryside middle school where she encounters, Akira Kuroiwa, a 9th grader with mysterious powers. Though 10 years younger than his teacher, Akira falls instantly in love with her and single-mindedly pursues her affections. But Hijiri has a devoted finance, Shotaro, with whom she keeps up a long-distance relationship. Aware that she should not reciprocate her student’s feelings for her, Hijiri eventually finds her heart swayed by Akira’s unremitting love and becomes attracted to him. Deeply conflicted between the affections of a pubescent youth and an elite company man, Hijiri’s “forbidden” love triangle engulfs those around her in this “forbidden yet pure” love story between student and pupil.

The setting is the opulent “Hibarigaoka” hilltop district coveted by anyone with dreams of wealth. The story revolves around three families: the Endos, the Takahashis and the Kojimas. Mayumi Endo has scrimped and saved to at last build a small house in the district, fulfilling a long-cherished dream. But reality proved much different. The Takahashis across the street seem to Mayumi a model family leading a blessed and happy existence. That is until the same type of trouble that the Endos are experiencing with a violently rebellious daughter, occurs tragically at the Takahashis, destroying Mayumi’s picture of an ideal home. The husband, Hiroyuki, is murdered, and the second son, Shinji, goes missing, making him the prime suspect in the eyes of the police, the Endos, the Kojimas and among the remaining children at the Takahashi home. But in a moving climax, “a painfully beautiful ode to familial love” awaits!

Ever wonder what would it be like to hear other people’s thoughts? Yusaku, an ordinary guy in an ordinary job finds out, when doctors revive him after a nasty fall down a flight of stairs. He soon realizes that he has this amazing power to read minds, but that it comes with an unusual limitation: he can only access them for 57 minutes after knocking his head tumbling down stairs! This is no problem for Yusaku though, who has always been a klutz. Soon he has turned himself into a peculiar modern day hero in an endless cycle of throwing himself down stairs to help those around him. This hilarious comedy shows just how far an ordinary guy will go to become the hero he has always wished to be and save the earth!
