Ichiro is a PE teacher in 1986 feared by his students for a "tough love" approach, harsh tongue and frequently “inappropriate” behavior. He’s also a dad trying to raise a rebellious daughter after having lost his wife to illness. When he gets transported in time to 2024, he encounters modern sensibilities that teach him about empathy, but also gives people of today reason to rethink their own political correctness in this time traversing comedy about change.

With the successful Mobile Emergency Room (MER) slated for nationwide roll out. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare sends medical technician Aoto to replace MER lead doctor Otowa as “second doctor.” But Aoto has his own agenda on behalf of the ministry. Then when a runaway houseboat collides with a passenger shuttle on the Sumida River, team leader Kitami lays politics aside and boards the boat alone knowing an explosion is imminent but dedicated to defending MER’s "zero fatalities" mission.

Their mission is simple: Save every life. Team member Nao Otowa, sent by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on a secret mission, ends up forming a close professional bond with Kota, and together the two men put their lives on the line every day to rescue others. But perhaps there’s more to Kota’s superhuman bravery and self-sacrifice than meets the eye...

Mitsu is a 29-year-old woman who married “the number 2 man in her life,” but has been unable to forget her first love, Arishima. When she accidentally encounters him after several years, she feels it is destiny calling, and the two spend one night together in secret from their spouses. Airtime himself has just begun a family of his own, with a newborn child, but he and Mitsu find themselves continuing their affair. While they at first enjoy what seems to be a no-strings at-tached affair, it gradually begets subtle changes in feeling. Mitsu’s husband, Ryota, becomes aware of the affair and ups his devotion to her to keep her. Meanwhile, Arishima’s wife, Reika, is a picture perfect mother and devoted wife, throwing this four-way relationship into an increas-ingly complicated web of mixed emotions.

Shizuku Miyama aims to become a doctor and follow in the footsteps of her father, Katsumi. “I want to make him proud,” she thinks. But when Katsumi expresses his disapproval toward his daughter becoming a doctor, Shizuku rebels and attends med school anyway on a scholarship. She makes it to her first year of residency where together with 4 other same-year interns she is assigned to the front lines of emergency medicine at the hospital’s critical care center. With only 6 months of medical practice behind them, these five interns lack sufficient life-saving skills, but through daily contact with experienced colleagues and contact with patients, find themselves maturing into full-fledged doctors and adults under the unforgiving life or death pressures of the emergency room.

Daichi Shinagawa is a bona fide “yankii”, a juvenile delinquent, who attends a prep high school. In fact, his reputation as a supreme tough is so widespread that he can’t walk the street without being challenged to a fight by other would-be thugs, and nobody will come near him at school. He therefore spends his days isolated and alone. Until one day he is befriended by the spectacled class president, Hana Adachi. While she looks like the prototypical serious student, Hana is herself a reformed “yankii” and something of a convivial space case. Daichi soon finds himself unwittingly swept up in her world, helping people with their problems and participating passionately in school events. Together they make for an incomparable duo in this fun and free-spirited high school fable.

A forty-year-old man has married a pretty woman 20 years younger than he is. However, with their marriage as a turning point, his fate dramatically changes. The mother of his newly-wed bride is his old lover! What is worse, the mother voluntarily moves herself in with the newly weds.
