Tokage (lizard) is an ex-cop from the Metropolitan Police Department's 1st Crime Division who couldn't work well with people, and never opened up to anybody. But he had extraordinary abilities that included a photographic memory and unmatched physical skills enabling him to crack the most difficult cases. For this, he had the respect of his peers and bosses. Until one case that led to a fatal miss: the death of his only partner. Taking responsibility for the tragedy, Tokage quit the force and began working for a private investigator's office as a researcher. But the Metropolitan Police are eager to recruit him back in an effort to raise their arrest rate, and manage to convince him to return as an undercover cop. Assigned to assist him is a young woman from the detective agency who joined for certain unavoidable reasons. But she's not in the least meticulous and smacks of a rich girl upbringing, and yet is obstinately strong-willed and doesn't back down. Together, they form an odd pair - the eccentric big name cop and the tough but cute assistant in an absolutely new kind of detective story.

Yuichiro Sawada is an elite company man with a blue chip trading company, in charge of a major overseas infrastructure building project. Forlorn, Yuichiro resolves to use his remaining time on Earth helping his family fulfill their dreams, and it becomes his driving passion and wish as a father and husband. Yuichiro's passionate pursuit soon begins to transform his family, too, realizing how the ability to dream can create new and lasting bonds between people, and in their relationship to society.

A high school student’s mother passes away leaving her alone with her grief. The girl, Marimo, discovers the name of a father she never knew. Marimo sets off to meet him, but is completely shocked when she finds someone very different from the father she envisioned. Her father, Shinpei, a 38-year-old would-be private detective, is shocked too, and doesn’t believe her until he sees the paperwork. With Marimo muttering “The worst father in the world” and Shinpei lamenting the loss of his freedom, these two are about to learn how difficult and rewarding a father/daughter relationship can be.

Abandoned by his mother and having had to fend for himself, Ryuu is one of many Japanese youths that have turned to a life of petty crime in order to survive in Japanese society. Life on the streets has given him a tough exterior, but it is his kind heart and his dislike for what he has become that wins over a local beauty and helps him take his first steps towards a better life. When an overzealous and less than ethical police inspector fingers Ryuu for a crime he didn’t commit, he is resigned to accept his fate. However, help emerges to give him the strength to fight for his freedom from an unexpected source: a victim of one of his past crimes.
