The “scarlet badge” is issued only to 1st Criminal Investigation Unit detectives. The badge is a proud symbol of dedication and passion by an elite cops of crime fighters including unit veteran, Sosuke Ato, and his rookie female partner, An Narutaki, of the newly-minted Search 1 New Service (NS) section. Narutaki has attained her long-cherished dream of becoming a cop but finds herself exhausted beyond belief by irregular hours in a male-dominated workplace.
