The protagonist is MER ("Mobile Emergency Room"), a team of emergency professionals on wheels formed by the Tokyo governor with one mission only: to prevent a single death. With the successful Mobile Emergency Room (MER) slated for nationwide roll out. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare sends medical technician Aoto to replace MER lead doctor Otowa as “second doctor.” But Aoto has his own agenda on behalf of the ministry. Then when a runaway houseboat collides with a passenger shuttle on the Sumida River, team leader Kitami lays politics aside and boards the boat alone knowing an explosion is imminent but dedicated to defending MER’s "zero fatalities" mission.

After being a star student in high school, Junko Harumi finds herself in her early thirties having failed at love, college entrance exams and good employment. Working at a cram school as a tutor bereft of hope and motivation, she spends her days believing she’ll be fired at any moment. Then one day, a knuckle-headed, delinquent teen named Kyohei Yuri appears before her. “I want you to get me into the University of Tokyo,” he says. Having herself failed to get into the country’s most prestigious university, Junko refuses thinking it beyond her abilities, but then is overpowered by Kyohei’s strong will and desire, and finally relents. In the process, she is surprised when her handsome cousin, Masashi Yakumo, an elite trade company man, returns from working overseas and suddenly proposes marriage to her. With her life suddenly taking a turn for the better, can Junko get Kyohei into the University of Tokyo from a bottom-feeder high school? And is she destined to find the love to set her life on a new path?

Nao Kitazawa, 34, leads a busy but fulfilling life as a doctor at a women’s clinic and as fiancee to an elite psychiatric physician, Yuchi Ihara. With their wedding day a month off, Nao is preparing to move into a new home when she meets Shinji Mamiya, a struggling writer who works part-time as a mover and falls inexorably in love with him. The fateful encounter compels Nao to follow her heart and experience true love. Overwhelmed by Nao’s passion, Shinji soon falls for her as well, but their budding romance is threatened by the tragic discovery that Nao has early onset Alzheimer’s. What unfolds is a story of pure love. As Nao’s symptoms worsen, Shinji spends the next ten years giving Nao mental and health support even as she begins to lose the precious memories they both shared.

Kazuki Kitamura and Gaku Hamada co-star in a television dramatization of two seminal works from the hugely-popular, hard-boiled series, “Yakubyogami” by crime thriller writer, Hiroyuki Kurokawa: “Hamon” (Expulsion), based on the novel of the same name that won the 151st Naoki Prize, and the series’ debut novel, “Yakubyogami” (Hoodoo).
Set in Osaka, high-spirited yakuza Kuwabara and buttoned-down construction consultant Ninomiya form an odd couple as they rail against the city’s “bad elements” drawn to money like sharks to the scent of blood. Laced with the characteristic witty banter of the Osaka dialect here is a gritty, hard-boiled drama that explodes with violent thrills and impact that defies all expectations.

Desperately in need of money, Hikari drops out of high school to pay her father’s debts and starts working at a television station as a cleaning lady. There she meets Masako, a television producer suffering from her drama’s low viewer ratings.
Masako soon realizes that Hikari has potential, and decides to hire her as one of her staff members. But things don’t go as planned. Working in the male-dominated corporate culture of the TV station, the two women find themselves alternatively clashing and cooperating to achieve their goals. Despite their ups and downs, one common desire always brings them together and guides them… they just want to be happy!
