Tasuku, the young brother of Ataru who never appeared in the television drama emerges here as the lead suspect in a serial killing case.
Ataru flies from New York to rescue his brother and discover the truth behind the murders which bear a strong resemblance to the "Crucifixion Murders" that shocked the United States in 1997. He is joined in the effort by 1st Crime Division investigator, Sawa, and ex-cop and current private detective, Maiko, for a reunion of the "Ataru Trio." But their movement is checked by Ataru's arch rival, who received the same special skills FBI training as he, and who seeks a final showdown.

In 2019, public anger at media excess has led to censorship of television, newspapers, the internet, books, movies, and music under the 'Media Betterment Act'. To fight the armed 'Betterment Squads' that go around destroying objectionable materials, the nation's libraries have formed their own para-military 'Library Defense'. Iku Kasahara is a new recruit to the defense, where her instructor and squad leader is Atsushi Dojo. At first repelled by his by-the-book approach to leadership, she is gradually won over by his commitment to their battle for 'books' and 'the freedom to know'.

An ordinary senior high school girl named Mika meets Hiro, a showy boy with dyed hair and pierced ears. It is a “pure love” story of the two going through many unimaginably sad incidents while nurturing their love single-mindedly. It not only depicts the first love of the senior high school couple but also weaves “a story of Mika and Hiro” through episodes probably familiar to anybody, such as warmth and affection of their family members supporting the two, importance of living, interactions with friends, and so on. This is a drama version of the movie “Sky of Love ~Someone I love is there~” that brought tears to the eyes of more than 3 million people.

"The Family", the program commemorating the 55th anniversary of the launch of the TBS TV station, is a social drama depicting the inside story between bureaucrats, politicians and big businesses over a bank merger revolving around the family discord between Daisuke Manpyou, the owner and president of Hanshin Bank, and his eldest son, Teppei. A program that was a big hit, "The Family" recorded average audience ratings of 23.9% in the Kanto region and 30.4% in the Kansai region.
