Inquiry

Print

The Metropolitan Police Agency's most eccentric detective, Heihachi Hiratsuka, of the First Criminal Investigation Division is the sole member of the “Hiratsuka Unit.” Treated as a pariah by his colleagues, Hiratsuka nevertheless is a stellar detective who cracks one mystery after another, thereby leading other division members to suspect his activities and speculate that he has deep ties to the underworld. When he is assigned a new partner in the form of rookie detective Saionji, an extravagant celebrity type with a strong sense of justice, there is the hope that he will discover evidence of Hiratsuka’s purported corruption. But the primary reason for Hiratsuka’s success in solving criminal cases may lie merely in the fact that the bad guys loathe him as much as the good guys do. The eccentric P.I and his rookie “frat boy” partner form an odd couple in this fun and quirky mystery drama.

Sakura Konotori lost his mother at his own birth and, as a result, grew up in an orphanage. Now he works as an obstetrician fueled by a deep love and yearning to “celebrate each and every baby that comes into the world”.
